Re: Lowered camaro owners

Can anyone help me...I was wondering if dropping my front 1.2 inches and the back 1.7 inches would be too low? The eibach are basically even, either its 1.2 f/r or 1.4 f/r. I am looking to buy speedtech springs, are those a good brand?

Re: Lowered camaro owners

I have sportlines on my 94 Z28 with 18" Z06's and I think it could be a little lower . But ride quality is great and I have no problems hooking up with my DR's

Lowered 1.25", scroll down for a couple more lowered pics.

I also have Jet-Hot long tubes and the Jet-Hot Y-Pipe and I do okay. I drive carefully.

Pics are in my sig, it's lowered with Intrax&Tokico HP it dropped 2.5" in the front and just over 2" in the rear when measured before and after on level ground, I plan on going with GC coilovers soon though so I can drop the rear the same as the front.

Re: Lowered camaro owners

Maybe you could get an airbag suspension... Lower your car 2 or 3 inches when you want to, and raise it 2 or 3 when you drive it. All you have to do is shift into park to raise or lower the car. I've always wanted an airbag suspension so I could pop the front end up so I don't scrape and also lower the car to look cool --all at the switch of well... a switch. Lamborghini Murcielagos have a similar setup. You can't go over even exposed railroad tracks in a Murcielago without raising the front end. It has a setup that raises it 4 inches in the front so rich people can get up their steep driveways and of course, go over speed bumps and railroad tracks without ripping the front spoiler off.

I doubt most airbag suspensions are made for sporty driving, but I don't care. I just drive on the road and go to the occasional car show. Maybe if I raised my car 2 or 3 inches when I park at school those side body moldings would actually block door dings from SUVs Have you ever seen some of those luxury SUVs park and they lower? Those are airbags.

My mom has the Bilstein/Eibach suspension package from SLP. Her car is exactly the same height as my stock Z28 even though she has 17" wheels and I have 16" thanks to the 1 inch or so drop. It looks lower, but really isn't. (However, all of the 17" wheeled stock Camaros are taller than my car just because of the wheels.) I can tell you that it rides hard as hell and a good sized pothole will knock your backseat passenger's spine into place. Sure does seem more capable cornering and such than my car though. Very very little bounce, in fact, close to none over anything. Sometimes I wonder if there are even springs there anymore. The front end's air dam doesn't scrape as bad as mine on my Z28, but the Y-pipe hits most speed bumps with a loud clunk.

I doubt you are interested in just a 1 inch drop, but if you are, there are lots of pics in my sig.

If you'd like a pic of a Camaro with Silverado SST concept truck wheels, happens to be backfiring in the pic, and dropped to the point the wheels rub on the wheel well, look no further than here: http://members.aol.com/speedbbb/mydreamcamaro1.jpg

Re: Lowered camaro owners

sadly to say no, its in storage, i dont use it any more...

but i love it... if it didnt say camaro it would make a lot more sense... but also if they were crome like my buddys camaro then it would look even nicer... but they got totally screwed up when my break caliper broke off, blead all over the rim and then dust break dust and other stuff totaly ruined the rims...

so i'll see if i cant get a picture of it within a few months but i tried to go start her today and they were closed

we are kinda off subject so i'll include something about being lowered...

i always compare to my buddys camaro and my firebird has always been considerably lower then his (stock suspension) but that was before i put the eibash springs on... and since then i think im even lower now... but i wonder if those low profile 17" rims did anything to the suspenion ive heard they arent good for longevity of suspenion
