Yea, that is what most people do when they convert to LED lights. I believe those are what Brent is running...

For those of us who are a little crazy we like to make our own :P

Heck it's going to cost me $120 for just the LEDs in the new ones I'm making, and that's only for 24 LEDs

if your paying $120 for 24 LEDs your getting hosed!!!

Uhm.... not really...

Considering the LED's I'm using cost ~$9 a piece!!!! I'm getting them for cheaper because we use a LOT of them where I work, so I'm getting the "bulk" pricing..

I'm using the 1 Watt Luxeon Emitters...

You find pricing cheaper than $5 an LED for those... Try it...

are those a "plug and play" type deal? Im gonna clear out my tail lights, but hate dealing with electrical ****, and just want something plug and play

Bulk red LEDs can be had for pennies, so even 500 would only be $50.

I think he is talking about the bulbs that come on a socket already. You are talking of the individual leds which are pretty cheap as you mentioned.

Yea, and those are some of the cheapest, lowest quality things that are made...
