Just bought a new front air dam.....

The black plastic deflector thing that goes under the front fascia....mine was beat to absolute crap.

I got it from the local Chevy dealer for $32. Did I get raped? It doesn't matter to me really, it's already bought. I just wanna know if I could've gotten it considerably cheaper.

Is it glossy at all? I've considered painting mine in some sort of gloss black to make it look nicer. I know that no one would really ever notice it, but it would be kind of subtle. I wouldn't think that 32 bucks is that bad....

Cool......yeah it's kinda glossy....but not like glossy paint. It just looks like brand new plastic. It's like night and day when putting it next to the old one, LOL.

While you are down there taking the old one off, make sure to take advantage of the opportunity and get all of the grass out of the very top of the air intake/grill/whatever. I crawled under my '95 with a flashlight a few weeks ago and gasped at how much was shoved up at the top of it.... I didn't get it out though... because I couldn't move my arms LOL.

Yeah it's a real bitch trying to maneuver down under there......when I got home from work I parked in my spot nosefirst (closest to the grass) instead of backing in, which would've made me facing the rest of the driveway therefore giving me a better work area. So when I got some free time this afternoon I decided to go ahead and put it in, but I was too lazy to back the car out of the spot, go down the driveway, and back up rearend-first. So I had to lay on my back in this mossy, muddy crap we got going on at the edge of the driveway. My clothes were wet down to my boxers and disgustingly dirty. But I did find some leaves and mud up under there....nothing too bad though.

Too bad you don't live in Dallas, I could have driven to your house and had you clean the grass out of mine .

As you might already know, I am usually against mods, but my dad is crazy about them, and found a solution to the grass problem on his '92 Corvette. What he did was undo some of the bolts under there (I'm assuming he took off the air dam and something else) and put a piece of window screen there and put the air dam and stuff back on to hold it in place. He told me to do it to keep the grass out, but to be honest, I'm just not that concerned about a few horsepower being robbed. Maybe you could do that window screen idea too if it bothers you.
