Just bought a 2002 Silverado 1500 Ext z71..help choosing tires

Since I respect a lot of your opinions around here, I was wondering if you guys could help me out. Never had a truck or SUV before. I would like to buy a little larger (taller) and wider tire for the z71. I don't want to have a monster truck or anything, just something larger than factory. Ride is very important. Anyone have suggestions or know a website with pics?

Sweet truck man, I came close to buying one earlier this year. Was going to sell the 4runner and use that as a down payment, then I thought about the payments though, and realized I would rather use the money to mod my Camaro some more. Its like a drug or something

What do you use the truck for? If its towing, you will be better off with a "C" or "D" load range "LT" type tire. Taller tires are going to reduce towing capacity, and performance in general, since they are the same as going to a lower numerical rear axle ratio.

I mianly use the truck for driving....i like a nice smooth ride. I pull a boat and waverunner. Maybe I should just go with wider tires and a lift? If I got wider tires, do you need to get new rims?
