Interior plans...let me know what you think...

First off, I have a 30th Anni so I want the interior to match up nicely. I want to possibly enter the car in some shows. Not looking to spend huge amounts of bucks to have a customized car or anything like that. Just some nice accents to make it different.

1) My white leather interior is in pretty bad shape. The front seats that is...the back seats are fine. I'm getting the leather in the front seats re-done white and having houndstooth inserts(black/orange) in all seats.

2) White vinyl on the door panels, dash pad(hopefully), and center console.

3) Hugger orange paint with glossy clear coat on the A/C vents, radio bezel, and the bezel around the speedo.

4) White face gauges with a 30th Anniversary decal made by Brent. Check out his web site if you don't know what I'm talking about.

5) Possibly tail light blackouts and headlight covers. I want to either put blackouts on the front or get round headlights w/ clear covers. I may not even do this at all cause it might take away a little too much from the 30th anni part.

6) As much as I like the factory white wheels and how they match up so good, I may look into some Z06 or C5 chrome wheels.

So how do you guys see this? Think it's way too much or sounds like it will look good. Just wanting some input from you all. Thanks in advance.

Re: Interior plans...let me know what you think...

1. the seat idea sounds good....

2. i'd leave the console and dash alone (meaning no vinyl)
I would accent thevents and bezels with white, if ou want to do that....
the shifter plate, ****, and door plates would look decent white... just
don't over do it...

3 white faced guages sound good... keep the guage bezel on and black.

4. CLEAR headlight covers... no tail light blackouts
MAYBE the "carbon fiber" looking head and tail light covers would look
good too.

5. I would forget about the wheels for the moment... i'm sure they look
good for now... I would spend some money dressing up the engine bay...
orange and black theme maybe?

just my most HUMBLE opinion.... i think your car is nice as it is.

Re: Interior plans...let me know what you think...

actually, think about it
white and orange on the exterior
orange and black under the hood
black and white in the interior
(we're talking MAJORITY color for each section)

each section would have a different combo, but i think it would flow NICELY like that....

ya know? of course the houndstooth would break it up a little and so would the black parts of the exterior, so it would make it flow even BETTER with those ....

again, my humblest opinion.

I picked up some Dupli-Color spray paint for Arctic White and got a clear coat can as well. Think that will look good for the bezels and vent trim?

1) Go with 19" white w/ polished lip IMO if you are serious about winning shows

2) You can get a all new custom 2-tone leather interior for $699 - 15% discount:

here

3) Racing seats would be the way to go to win shows IMO.

4) Engine bay MUST be spotless and customized to win shows

I'm not really fixated on winning shows or even placing. Just want to have a presentable car. I really want the houndstooth inserts, so I'll most likely go that route. The houndstooth is such a heritage touch, and I think it represents the 30th Anniversary car very nicely. Racing seats might help with win, but I just can't take these white leather seats out. They just bring so much to the car. The engine bay of course will be cleaned up. It's got a few polished pieces, but still has a LOT of work.

Thanks for all the input. I've got a lot to do before I could even think of entering it into a show, but it'll all happen with time.

Oh yeah, I finished the driver side vent trim earlier and started on the passenger side. I'll have the passenger side trim and the radio bezel done tomorrow. I'll snap some pics and let you guys see. The first vent trim turned out really good. Far better than I expected. The clear coat does a wonder of a difference. Really glossy!

Not interior related, but has anyone ever seen or have any pics of a 30th Anni. with a Berger rear panel? I was wondering if that would look stupid or not on my car.
