i have an idea for my tails, but im wondering if things will work out before i go spending the money...

I want to get a set of clear tail lenses and smoke em...im not too big of a fan of the taillight covers and wanted to go with something that is more to my liking....

I was wondering ....Is there a set of just clear lenses made by anyone for an 93-02 Z, and if so, who makes em....and if not....do the "altezza" taillight outer lenses (the part that is clear, not the round red parts) fit a pair of stock tails....?

i may not be explaining this correctly, if not, please ask for clarification....im just wondering if it will work before i go spending the money on it....

These are the only set of real clear taillight lenses I know of that are not altezza. I have not seen a pair yet on a car or just to look at.

EDIT: Wait, do you mean make your own smoked taillight covers?

Why not just smoke the stock taillights?

 

If they are clear, that is exactly what i have been looking for...

 

Actually, I just got another idea that might cut the cost a lot if i can get it to work.....

I know the 93-97 tails work on an 02....is there any way to get the red stuff off of the tails or is it the plastic that is red? if so, does anyone know of a picture of some of those that have been smoked?

 

smoked looks good, my buddy has a 94 camaro z28 and he got his rear smoked, his lights smoked and black letters (christmas present from me originally stainless but he painted them black) and a black induction SS hood on his red car, so hes got basically a black and red theme going on and its a beautiful car

 

Im putting 97 style tail lights in my 95. They just look better to me.

One day Ill find a pair of the over seas style tail lights for a good price.
