Idea for lighted door handles

I thought this my be a neat idea. Use 1 or 2 blue LED's (I have a blue LED interior). Mount them under the outside door handles, so the aren't visible. Then hook them up to the interior lights so that when the door is opened or the keyless entry, the door handle cavities will be lit up.

Any ideas or suggestions?

My idea is to drill it into the door handle bracket. If you feel up into the door handle well, you can feel to bar. I am assuming I can pull the handle out and drill a couple holes from the back. Epoxy them in and then wire them up.

Don't know what your talking about here? but anyway.

I went ahead and did the drivers side. You were right on drilling a hole in the door. I drilled a hole just large enough for the LED in the center of the door handle bracket and through the door. Epoxyed the LED in.
Wired it to the courtesy light. Looks pretty good. I will take some pics tomorrow and try to post them.

It's behind the handle. If you lift the handle up and look under, you can see it at the back. I will take some pics and post them tonight.

What exactly is the purpose of doing this? I could see somehow lighting up the area around the key-hole for the lock, as I've seen on some cars. But the handle?

1 reason is to make my car look that little bit different. Another is to light the handle recesses up so that you don't have to feel around for the handle in the dark. I also have a bunch of spare blue LED's from when I swapped over the interior lights.

I like the LED's I put on the inside pretty well - but I still have this feeling of - "Is this too much like neons"...so on the outside, no way I could bring myself to it.
