I need some pics of cars with a specific backspacing

I am looking for pics of 4th gens, or any car really, that has a backspacing that lets the wheel stick out 3.5". So a 8" wheel with a 4.5" backspacing or something.

Would these stick out past the fenders? Thanks

I guess by "stick out" you are talking about the "front spacing" of the wheel - the distance from the hub mounting flange to the outer edge of the rim. First, the wheel "width" - 8" in the case you mentioned - is measured inside the flanges of the rim, so you typically have to add up to 1" to the wheel width in order to calculate back space and front space. The stock 16x8 4th Gen wheel, with 55mm offset, it actually closer to 9" wide, including the bead retainer flanges. The backspace is approx 6.67" and the front spcae is approx 2.33".

If you want a front space of about 3.5" you would need to look at a Torque Thrust II 9.5" wheel, with 44mm offset.

This is Kelly Drown's T/A WS6 with the TT II's (front only, the backs are 17x11 4.2" front space):

This is my car when it had OZ Monte Carlo 17x9.5's with 49mm offset, 3.32" front space (front and rear):

This is my car with the ZR1 replicas, 17x9.5 front (3.0" front space) and 17x11 rear (4.0" front space):

Yes, I know the gap over the rear wheels is too large, but the suspension is set up for 28" slicks.

Thanks man, thats exactly what I was looking for. So a 8.5" wheel with a 5" backspacing would look pretty much like those OZ Monte Carlo wheels right? Do your ZR1 replicas stick out past the fender? Did you roll the fender lip? Thanks again

No.... an 8.5" wheel is actually about 9.5" wide when measured from flange to flange. You would need a 6" backspace to put the front of the wheel 3.5" out from the hub.

Thanks! The gap does look smaller with the slicks!

Here are 17x11 ZR-1's with 36mm offset in the front and 50mm offset (with 1/4" spacer) in the rear.

So Injuneer, do you think a 8.5" wheel with a 5" backspacing, and 255s would fit inside the wheel well? Thanks
