How much stiffer are LS1 springs v/s V6?
How much stiffer are LS1 springs v/s V6?
The reason I ask is because I bought a set of springs from off a '98 SS. They were professionally cut by a machine shop to give the SS approx. a 1.75" drop all around. I had planned on installing them on the TA but since it'll be off the road for a bit longer I pondered the idea of throwin them on the Camaro. I'm not sure however what kind of drop I would be looking at with them being LS1 springs? The guy I bought the springs off of said that the only reason he pulled them off the SS was to put drag springs on... he'd said that the car handled fine with the chopped springs.
Most likely I'll just end up ponying up the dough for a set of V6 lowering springs from one of the vendor's here but thought I'd check to see what kind of input I would get about these springs I already have. They've just been sitting in a box every since I bought them close to a year ago

i got Ls1 springs on my 96 z, all i can tell you is the ride is a bit firmer, and it dropped just a tad, saying that your springs were cut, so i would guess the ride would even be more on the firmer side along with even a bigger drop, i had both my cars side by side and the 96 z sits a bid lower than the 01, hope that helps

I had seen spring sets for sale online before listing a seperate set for LT1's then another for V6/LS1/SS, sort of like they do w/ the STB's.I'm assuming that the LS1's are a little lighter than the LT1's? But either way, I can always throw them on just to see how it works out. If not then I'll go w/ a brand name set specifically made for the Camaro.
