How do I get rid of a decal?

I have an annoying dealership decal and I was wondering if you guys know of an easy way to get it off without damaging the paint.

peel off as much as you can (if any) with your fingers, then use Goo-Be-Gone. It will sink under the decal and wear down the glue. Then just peel some more and wipe down with a paper towl and more Goo-Be-Gone to get rid of any adhesive residue and go over it with some windex. It doesn't damage the paint, I did the same thing.

yeah....you can do that...you can also take your hair dryer...and heat the decal up just a little...then it'll come off better and leave less residue on the paint. Then, I just took some rubbing alcohol on a terry cloth and up came the goo. This method also works on taking off emblems too.

For mine I went to AutoZone and got some label and sticker remover, spayed it on the edges, and waited a few minutes.

Got workin with the fingernail, and it came right off, any residue came off with a towel. Looks like nothing was ever there

When you do it...just make sure that you don't leave the dryer in one spot for too long...you don't want to get it TOO hot...just evenly warm. The best way is to move the dryer around a bit and from time to time feel the decal...you should be able to have your fingers under the dryer for a few seconds...if you can't....you're too close and too hot. You want to gradually heat up the decal/emblem over the course of a few minutes rather than just BLAST it with hotness.

Now...ALL this is ONLY if the decal won't peel off easily on it's own. Cause that's the best way. If it'll peel off clean and neat...then just do that. If not...go for the hair dryer. Works EVERY time.

I have a big sticker eraser. It goes on any standard drill and is cool as hell. You just get it spinnin and start rubbin it over the decal. It pulls it off almost effortlesly. You can get them at most sign supply or paint supply stores. They wotrk awesome on pinstriping too..It will cause absolutly no harm to the paint

just a suggestion..good luck

Fingernail. I've removed TONS of decals and stickers from cars (used to detail cars for a dealership and would take off all the other dealership decals then stick theirs on!) and all I have ever done is just peel the damn things off. No hair dryer, no dental floss or toothpicks... just my handy dandy old fingernail At most I'd have to use some Goo Gone or Adhesive Remover after the sticker was off to remove the residual glue but that's it. I even took the 30th Ann stripes off my SS by just peeling them off. Most of them came off cleanly and it took me maybe 15 minutes with Goo Gone to get the rest of the left behind glue off. No problems
