You paint over it.

Oh alright. I'm an idiot then that I didn't know people actually painted the carbon fiber hoods. All I see is these 16-18 year old high school kids driving around with fiber hoods in their natural finish, so I just assumed no one painted them.

How much weight are you saving?

I think it looks nice when the hood is painted to match car except for the scoop and lines off of the scoop up towards the front of the hood. There was a picture of a yellow vette done up like that- I think it was an rksport vette.

I still have some fitment issues to work out. The hood looks awesome but is not worth the money for all the probs.

once I get it done I will post pics out of the garage
Glad you like it and sorry to hear about all the problems. That why I'm shying away from aftermarket hoods. To many storys like this one.

Don't say that, theres a few companies out there that make some excellent hoods.... you just have to know who's dishing out the quality I suppose.

If you have the time, make me a list. LOL I'll put it in my favorites for future reference. Now get on it, and or go to bed, it's getting late.

carbon fiber rocks! and with the peices a firned of mine has made with his CF company, you cant beat it for durability and light weight. He has several customers that have sent pics of their wrecked cars and the CF Peices survive some pretty brutal accidents. I mean there is a reason they make car frames out of this stuff!!! Light weight and strong!

as for the "ricer look" umm...all i have to say is Berger Panel...

on the fitting issues, that sucks. I have seen a few hoods fit correctly out of the shipping crate, but I have seen FAAAAR more that had to have something finaggled with them, especially with f-bodys on the fact that their chassis tend to flex alot and thus alignment of panels get off. 1mm here and there may not look like much of a difference until you replace it with something that was designed for "perfect fitment".

I dont understand painting a CF Hood. Many people tend to pick CF For the appearance rather than the performance. And jsut like people who buy exhaust systems for their "sound" and rims to show off their brakes with brembo, willwood, or baer stickered on the side fo the caliper....I would want to show off any CF Peice I had by leaving it unpainted. Not to mention it does look nice depending on the weave and if you go all around with it.

i would like to get some more info on the fitting issues and what not, becuase i was interested in this hood. Itll be ahwile before i can afford it, but i saw it on ebay and i was liek THATS WHAT I WANT! Mind dropping me a PM to explain more in detail? in the pics it doesnt look like the fitment was too bad but thats also after you did all that work thou right?

"thanks for your inquiry... however it seems like we might offer them... however if i do it will take some time to make and so forth b/c we have to send them to our development team... if you guys lke our hoods we can set up a group buy for you and your guys if you would like... just let me know and let me know anything else you guys want done... and ill try to get them done for you guys... also i might have some room to sponser your forums... give me some information and i might set something up... thanks!

It's basicly a Stock SS hood with some vents thrown in it and it's made out of a light weight material... what's ricey about that?

That's what. And the fact that someone (maybe not you) would buy it more for looks than performance. Anything that is added that doesn't support a purpose is ricey. Those vents aren't gonna do anything for an F-body.

And neither do the fake vents that come on the stock hood.

Atleast these vents can transport heat and air.
