hmm colors...

anyone know what the BRIGHTEST red made or that would look alright without re-doing engine-bay and door jams? factory color was bright red.. anyone know the brightest red or somethin just a TAD brighter than torch? (or even just a paint code for torch red would suite me fine) the car is finally down to the last stage.. granted its been 3 months but im not gonna say anything now that its almost done! just have to pick out the EXACT red i want... im thinkin of torch but its the brightest red i know of

Re: hmm colors...

the brightest red i can think of would be viper red or an all out one off color would be off of the dupont mixing bank.. accumlative amounts
850J brilliant red 180g
150k balancer 350g
175k binder 425g

the only problem you might have later on down the road is fading with a really bright red.. the only way i have found to keep the red alive is to add some blue pearl.. but if all your doing is the jambs and stuff then you should be fine..

Re: hmm colors...

viper red, hmm i even like how it sounds lol. anyway, fast orange you got it backwards, im trying to find the brightest red i can without having to re-do the door jams and under hood to worry about matching (all the car except those) thanks for the ideas. still not completely sure what color i wanna do, but thats only cause of matching... but hey.. how many ppl are gonna notice the door jams are slightly darker, theyre usually in shadow anyway, except that part on the end of the door =/... ah well! thanks guys, off to check out this viper red!

Hey man, quick question........was your "eyeshadow" around your headlights painted gloss black? Or is it the original flat black?

Re: hmm colors...

no one is going to notice the door jambs.. it will work out ok.. i THINK the viper red is called vermillion red..it has almost an orange tint to it.. i cant remember right off the top of my head..and with the blue pearl.. i mean the teeniest tiniest bit you can use.. it will keep it alive.. i promise.. paint code E4 from ford is pretty f'n bright too..

Re: hmm colors...

thanks for the tip fast orange, just got back from the mixers it was called viper red though and they said they always add a touch of blue pearl to their bright reds i was glad to hear that, guess thats a good thing about a ppg distributor cant wait to see how this is gonna look, price was a tad dicey but i can live with it, 122 for a gallon... but from the way they described the color (and the pictures i saw) looks like itll be worth every dime

i had them painted gloss black when i got the car, the flat black was faded to gray and had to be re-painted anyway the gloss looks a lot better (but considering it was gray it was a HUGE improvement either way) going back gloss black this time too along with the rear panel.. i know the berger heritage thing is suppose to be flat black but as many new parts as ive had on teh car everybody would think it was just somethin i forgot to paint lol... now all thats left is getting those reflective red and black vinyls ordered 0_0

Yeah, my car just went into the shop today for some body work and they're re-painting my BADLY faded flat black (almost gray) with some gloss black.

you'll like em a lot better that way, one thing really cool about em is, if you look at just the right angle it looks like youve got 8 lights instead of 4
