I have my grounds in a spot close to that, and my car is running without any problems so far.

Re: Hidden wiring mod???

Here are a few quick pics that I took after doing this myself. Im not quite finished. I would still like to move the battery ground and the red box somewhere and put a loom around all the wires coming off the red box, but for the most part, its done. I used a dremel to cut the hole in the sheet metal and then painted it and used clear plastic tubing to act as a grommet.

Re: Hidden wiring mod???

On the 2 LT1 cars that I've done this mod to I relocated the red box down low so that it was between the battery and wheel well. Not quite wedged in there but down where it was hard to see. The grounds I took to the section of the frame just inboard of the battery, drilled a hole and scraped a little paint off for connection. Neither owner has told me of any problems and that was a while back that I did them.

Re: Hidden wiring mod???

I took the passenger side stuff and placed it in the inner fender well, same with the driver's side harness, there are now no visible wire looms in the engine compartment of my car. A PITA, but to make it smooth and clean, you have to extend lots of wires and relocate them elsewhere.
