I couldn't find the Direct Link, but it's on cars.com, 1999 Camaro Z28, asking price is $21,500.

Sweet! I think I have pics of that one already. I'll check.

it says "conversion" on the page, does that mean its not a TRUE mecham z29R?

What I think it means is that is was a z28 that was "converted" to a Mecham Z29R. Like the Berger Camaros, I think these type of "editions" were born as z28 or ss cars then changed to the aftermarket specs of a Berger or Mecham.

They usually come with a original bill of sale from Chevy as a SS or Z28 AND they come with an additional bill or sale from these conversion companies.

I am not 100% sure but I believe that is what conversion means.

I WISH that I had enough for this car though. I think it is a STEAL considering the rarity and low miles this is a DEFINATE for Camaro collectors!

Re: Here's a nice find for you Brangeta

The real Z29R Camaros by Mecham had to have a certain amount of work done to be considered Mecham Z29Rs. Body mods, engine mods, etc.

The company also sold the parts separately, so there are several dozen Camaros with just Mecham hoods and stuff, but they aren't Z29Rs.

From what I've seen so far, the Mechams have a messed up numbering system. It started over every year, and that means there are several #001 cars. It's very confusing, and they didn't end up making enough of them to make it worthwhile to start numbering them from a fresh start each year.

All of the Mecham stuff is honestly very confusing because they had too many options and not enough documentation IMO. There's two different styles of hood, there's two different styles of spoiler, etc.

The GMMG cars are the easiest to understand, followed by Callaway. Every other company is just a pain in the butt to understand, but fortunately there weren't very many others.

I guess the numbering system might make a bit of sense if every year there was a change in styling. For instance if they only made that hood and those wheels for the 1998 edition mecham car, your numbers would make sense for the '98 edition. If there was a totally new look and performance standard for '99 then it would make sense to start fresh. I'm just tryin to make sense out of the madness and in the process I had a brain overload

Hmm, that's an interesting perspective. If that were true, that'd make sense. I don't think more than about 20 of these cars were made though, so it's just so silly that the numbering starts over! I wish it didn't.

After taking a look at their page and how they have multiple options for this car the numbering system makes absolutely zero sense especially since they didn't make that many cars.
