Help me out here guys...'97+ T/L on '96-

I searched for every term I could think of, because I know that this has been posted, but where's the instructions on how to swap out the pre '97 tail lights out with the newer ones? I don't have the new wiring harness or anything either...is it possible to do without the new wiring harness? All help would be appreciated. If you know of a thread on here that tells about it, just point me in that direction...
Thanks!

Edit: This is on a '94, I think '96's may actually have different wiring???

Thanks for the link, and yes he did do an excellent job! But he says you must have the newer wiring harness...Is this the case? I can use his instructions for everything else I think, but I just need to know if I must have the newer harness. I thought there was some kind of adapter or some kind of bypass you could make on it or something...?

If you do have a 94, you will need the newer harness. I had to do the same thing when I did my export lights.

Fred, thanks for your help...since I indeed must have the newer harness, do you know where I can find one reasonably priced? I have some contacts I am going to check with, and I'll check out the F/S section here, but if you know of somewhere as well, it won't hurt anything to check everywhere I can...
Thanks again...

DLB

Edit: I can get one locally for $25, that's probably the route I'll take...

You might try contacting Tim using the exportstyle email address on the website. I know he used his stock harness for his export taillights, but it was a big pain! He said he had to cut the bulb sockets out and rewire them. Just like Fred says, get the 97+ wire harness b/c it'll make life much easier!

BTW Fred, I wasn't sure if you read my earlier post and I wanted to let you know that your interior look great!

Thanks guys...
I am just gonna get the $25 harness...I am getting a good deal on the lights, so I can afford to do it right...Plus I don't like to halfway do something...Thanks again.

I put '97+ lights on my '95 using the stock harness. It was quite a while ago, but all I can say is that it took me forever to figure out how to do it. I seem to remember rewiring a lot of it...
