Help Installing Billet Grille

I'm trying to put a Billet Grille on my 2002 Camaro and am running into problems. After removing the stock grill you are supposed to drill holes and use screws and a retainer clip to attach the grille. The problem is I see no way to reach my hand back behind the bumper to hold the retainer clip that the screw goes into. The only thing I see that might work is removing the three plastic rivets that hold the bottom of the front bumper assembly to the front end, but I don't know how to remove those rivets. Hopefully someone else has run into the same problem and might be able to help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If they are those push-in style plastic rivets, get a small pocket screwdriver and pry the center portion of the rivet until it comes completely out. Then you should be able to pull the entire plastic rivet out.

Hmmm....I put a Stull billet grille on my car years ago and it didn't even come with retainer clips, just screws.

Mine came with the clips but I didn't use them. Just screw right into the bumper. Mine never fell off or pulled out- if you really want to be safe though go to lowes and pick these nylon inserts (you drill a hole slightly smaller than the insert and then force the insert into the hole- then screw into the center of the insert- it will never fall off) make sure you buy the right size insert.

Unless you'd done this successfully, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. Those push-ins need some pressure on them to keep from turning when you are putting in the screw. Seems to me the inserts would just start rotating in the urethane bumper.

My stull is held on with the supplied 4 self-tapping screws. It seems to be just fine.

The work good, unless you're using a super high rpm drill to install the screws- low speed setting on the drill and won't have any problems- you also have to make sure that it's a super tight fit when pushing the inserts in.
