hazed headlight fix

hazed headlight fix

i had the worst case on my car when i bought it. We got this new 3m headlight restore at work and wow it saved me 200 bucks. It is about 20 bucks at oriellys. part # 39008 also painted the inside of the lights.

This should be in the appearance section.

They turned out pretty good, i'm surprised to see that no haze got on the inside of the lenses.

The haze is caused by UV damage as well as atomspheric particulates that settle on the plastic. It's not usually an "inside the lens" phenomenon.

If you have a decent buffer and some compound, you can wet-sand and polish the plastic to like-new appearance. The 3M compound seems to have worked pretty well, although there's still a little yellow tinge left behind. Maybe another pass with the cleaner?

I just wet-sanded mine, starting with 800grit and working up to 2,000grit, then used a plastic polish to shine them up. They came out looking damn perfect.
