Has anyone ever painted a car by removing all possible body panels?
I'm going to be painting my beater in the near future, got one question though...
Has anyone painted a car by having the fenders and hood off, doors, bumper covers, and trunk lid??? then jsut rolling the chassis of the car to paint the remaining rear fenders and roof?
I was thinking of doing this, wondering if anyone has done it before....seems like it would make the painting a bit easier, delaing with smaller areas...
thanks fellas,
lbrowne

you can do this to a point....
typically when I work on a car we edge everything that way... by itself.. then spray everything on the car that we can.... that guarentee's an even coat over every panel, not to mention the color's exactly matched. Plus if we always do something "funky" with the car.. like Pearl details, or fading colors, etc.. those all need to be sprayed together.

Like was mentioned, I was concerned about color matching because all the stuff was being painted at different times and everything else. However, it ended up coming out pretty darn good so I can't complain!
