Flex Additive (paint guys here)

Im painting my front bumper, is a flex additive required on 2 stage paints? (base coat/clear coat). If so does the flex additive go into the base coat or clear coat, or both.

thanks

actuallu i really dont think you should even need to worry about it. Ive cleared a pice of flexible plastic before with dupount HC-7600 and i can bent it alot farther than your bumper will ever flex without cracking, but it wont reawlly hurt

I'll be using ChromaClear 4500S, i'll probably throw in the flex additive unless i actually do not need it.

On a side note, is there anywhere online to buy dupont paint products?

Thumbs up

Definately add the flex to your clear, not only does it help with preventing cracks it also prevents bug and rock chips, since the clear will be 'springier'. Chips and cracks occur because of the hardness of the clear not wanting to give. Now I'm not saying chips will never happen with flex, but the likelyhood will be greatly diminished.
