does anyone know if/who makes flared fenders for 93-97 camaro?? i have seen flared fenders on only a couple 98+ camaros, but would like to see them on an older model.

Re: flared fenders

Personally I don't think they would look so swell on an LT1.

Re: flared fenders

No one makes them, you can have them made at a custom body shop. Dont know how much it would be but i bet it would look good.

Re: flared fenders

The labor would kill ya. We were trying to figure out how to do it for one of the guys at the shop and there would be so much time involved that you'd almost have to DIY it to avoid going into the poorhouse. It's a shame no one makes a kit.

Re: flared fenders

Toys-R-Us.

I think the idea we came up with was that spray foam in a can. I think it's called great stuff. It can be found at Lowes, it's used as a window insulation when you replace them. That stuff is messy but very easy to work with once it dries and it expands as well. Spray on, let dry, cut with knife to rough shape and size then run over it with a grinder to make the exact shape you want. Fiberglass then let the sanding and bondo begin!

After a while we gave up on ideas so that's all the farther we got. And most likely to make it work your gonna have to do the doors and bumpers as well.

Re: flared fenders

Try getting info on the replica 4th Gen. Sunoco/Penski Camaro. Probably the one you've seen picts. of. Who ever did this had to make a mold for the fenders. Might run off another set for you, for enough money.

GMMG won't reply and VFN made some of the stuff for the Sunoco car. They don't have a mold. We've been down that route and it still makes no sence to me. It's not like they only made one car with the flares. There's the Dick Harrel cars too. Seems to me there is enough demmand to produce some. Maybe you'll have better luck than us.

Didn't know anyone had gone down this path. It's a shame as I really like the look of these "IMSA" or Grand Am/Trans Am style flares.

Re: flared fenders

If you look at the Sunoco camaro and the Dick harrell you will see a difference. Try to find pics. The Sunoco fenders in the back are so much smoother and look 110 times better than the dick harrell. The Dick harrell doesnt flow with the body as much as the Sunoco one does. The Dick Harrell just Pops out at you all of sudden while the Sunonco gradually makes its way out. The reason i noticed this is a few buddies of mine have been researching it and were interested in trying it with mine but like stated above very hard and long work. We have even looked at TA Fenders in relation to ours and they stick out farther. Unless you got a friend who is willing to spend lots of time to do it or a shop that will do it for cheap, your pretty much stuck man.

I totally agree and we tried the T/A quarters too. Seems to me that they just kind of shoot out there too much to make them work. It truely is a crap *** situation as I don't know of anyone who wouldn't like to have this done.

One other option we didn't really get too far into is checking with the road race crowd, i guess you'd call it autocross? Seems to me they put flares on everything(around here anyways) so someone there might know.

Re: flared fenders

I think I'd start with some C3 Corvette fenders and work my way from there.

Re: flared fenders

These things are obtainable from the Trans Am, Grand Am, Le Mans sports racing crowd, but they are all cabon fiber and very expensive. If cost was no object you could get a whole body made.

Which ever of both... i would like to get my hands on the stuff to do it... bigger tires and that widebody look is plain awesome.. i might convert to a 98+ just to get that widebody look.
