Fender Conversion on Firebird???
i like the styling of the 98-02 trans ams with the vented fenders, and was considering a front end swap, but i have a warbird hood in the making to fit my 93-97 body style/headlights, and like the way that is right now, but is it possible to swap the vented fenders from the 98-02 style right on to the 93-97 body with no problems? do they fit/measure the same?

Meaning, fenders, hood, bumper, support brackets. There's no way to get around just doing fenders, or just the hood, or just the bumper.

A friend of mine grafted the fender vents onto his 93-97 formula a few years back. Basically, he cut the fender in 2 pieces and bonded them back together. He did this about 5+ years ago.

do you have any pics of it? and how it fit? Im most likely not gonna do the whole front end conversion, and just had the idea of using the vented fenders to add a little somethin to it, but i just wanna see it and know if its worth the work of grafting it together.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the conversion. He said he wouldn't do it again since it was a major PITA to do.
He said converting his hard top to t-top was cake compared to doing those fenders.

haha thats funny u mention that bc thats another thing i was wondering since i drive a hardtop...how hard is it to convert to t-tops? and is it worth it? my car is not a race car, its a DD with a 383....only complaints ive heard about t-tops vs hardtop is body flex for racing...

All the hard top cars are T-top cars with composite material covering up the t-top holes.
The thin material probably doesn't add anything to the stiffness of the car.
All you do is carefully cut the t-top panels out, get the weather stripping and mounting brackets (the center bracket mounts to holes already pre-drilled under the panels), t-top a-pillars, and your t-tops and you are good to go.
