Check LS1howto.com, there is a great writeup there.

It's the one i used, and I had never touched springs/struts before.

All you need is two jack stands and a floor jack. Rear springs require you get the back of the car far enough off the ground on jack stands, to allow the rear axle to be dropped several inches after the shocks are unbolted.

Front simply requires that you put the car on jack stands sufficient to pull the wheel assembly down a couple of inches after you unbolt the top spring/shock mount from the shock tower.

There are no "struts" on a 4th Gen.... they are "coil over shocks".
