I bought a ebony dash pad for my 94. Its actually kind of a lighter gray than what I took out. The pad I removed was a very dark gray. So which color was the original? I could have sworn it was called graphite. I'm so confused

 

ebony is black, graphite is dark gray. i didn't think ebony was used until 2000.

 

AFAIK, all the 93-96 dashes are exactly the same. Chances are the one you put in was sun faded.

So I removed a graphite dash pad. Now I'm stuck with a light gray one apparantely. Sucks! I guess I can paint it.

 

Is it a GM part, or aftermarket? 93-96 is graphite, 00-02 is ebony.

 

If it was brand new in the box and it wasn't a GM part, then you probably have to paint it to match. That's how most aftermarket interior peices are.

 

This interior stuff has always annoyed me. I've never been able to get a firm 100% grasp on what all differences there were between years. (Probably because I haven't tried very hard )

I believe for '94, there were three interior options: medium gray, graphite, and beige. I'm not sure which colors the dash came in though. I thought they were all graphite, but haven't ever paid attention to that.
