Ebay find of the week: 1 of the 13 2002 B4C cars with two-tone paint
Re: Ebay find of the week: 1 of the 13 2002 B4C cars with two-tone paint
Nah, I would restore it. I don't know how legal it would be to have the lights and decals on it, but that is what I would do. I always thought that turning it back to police mods would look SO cool, and would be pretty rare I am sure.
Good Luck with that beauty! She is SWEET!!!

I think it'd be neat to restore it, but at the same time, there's video evidence that the car was abused and basically used as a circus act on the track. It's hard to make a decision about what to do. Whatever he does with it, I hope he doesn't just leave it as-is.
If it were my car, here's what I'd do:
1) I'd repaint the doors white after taking measurements of the original decals (how tall and wide the letters are, how big the star, etc.).
2) I'd give those measurements to someone *cough* like me *cough* who designs custom decals, and have him come up with a design that's cool, but not going to get the owner arrested for impersonating a police officer. I'd definitely get the Transformers quote decals "To Punish and Enslave" and maybe even use a Transformer logo as the decal instead of the star.
OR
Depending on my profession, I'd copy the typical or Transformers style Police car:

And have completely custom decals made along the theme of my job. So let's say the owner is a construction worker. So the quote could be "To Build and Destroy", "Emergency Demolition Response", and the logo on the door could be the CAT logo in black. Something like that would be cool.
In my case, I'd use something like "To Design and Create", "Emergency Graphic Design Response", and just put BRANGETA on the doors.
3) I'd replace the broken parts like the glove box lid, missing wheel center caps, and foglight.

The CHP spent the dollars to do the 10-point roll cage, wonder if the also added sub-frame connectors? If they were that concerned with rigidity and safety...
Yes, car has been run hard- and probably maintained by the book, no expense spared. If there were any defective parts, they must have been found, proof tested and replaced. Anybody able to run a carfax on it and see if there are any entrys?

It's legal in Texas and Georgia to have Police or Fire and Rescue or 9-1-1 on your vehicle as long as you don't have a jurisdiction. You are allowed to have the light bars and other things as long as they are not used.

I understand the desire for a restoration on these cars perfectly considering their rarity, but come on now. With that roll cage, it'd be awful hard not to have at least a little fun at the track.

I agree with you as well, badd. It would be really neat to get the lights going and the original paint and as close to original decals as you could find, these cars are def one of a kind.
