Ebay find of the week: 1 of the 13 2002 B4C cars with two-tone paint
There were only 13 B4C cars with 01U (special override paint code) made in 2002. All of them had AAT (two-tone paint RPO code) and were California emissions cars with RPO code NB8. Actually, they were all exactly identical to each other, every single option was the same on all 13 cars. Every single option. And I mean that. Every single option. They were identical.
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...roMar20105.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...1/P1080578.jpg The two-tone paint on these cars consisted of a white roof and white doors. I'm not familiar with how the 4th gens were painted on the assembly line, but it's basically just white doors on a black car and a white roof. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...1/P1080629.jpg This car has only 13,740 miles on it. The door paint is in rough shape because... The original doors on the car were painted Black by the CHP prior to the auction. That black paint was immediately removed after the auction. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...1/P1080593.jpg The roll cage isn't factory, nor is it specific to B4C, but it was done by the California Highway Police. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...1/P1080609.jpg The seat modification is very interesting. I haven't seen that done before. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...1/P1080610.jpg The seller says this particular car has a unique history, which explains the modifications and extremely low miles. This car was originally put into CHP EVOC service when new in 2002. This car remained in EVOC service with the CHP until sold at auction in October 2009. This car was modified for high speed track use by the CHP and was never a road patrol unit. Modifications include a complete 10 POINT FULL ROLLCAGE fabricated and installed by Chris Alston Chassisworks in California. I understand the cost for the roll cage work in each of the 8 EVOC Camaros was $7,000 per car back in 2002. The front bucket seats in the car were modified to allow the use of 5 point racing belts. A complete Flowmaster exhaust system was also installed. The suspension received upgrades along with the installation of CHP graphics and special lighting unique to the EVOC Camaros. The EVOC Camaros were NOT driven by recruits at the CHP Academy for training. Each EVOC Camaro was assigned to an EVOC Training Instructor for use and demonstrations at the Academy. These cars were driven hard during their service at the CHP Academy and were also seen by many civilians during demonstration days at the CHP Academy. There are MANY pictures and YouTube Videos of these cars in action on the internet. Links to these video%u2019s are included with this auction. It'd be perfect for a race car as-is. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...1/P1080623.jpg But I think it's perfect for a restoration to be made into a show car. All it really needs is an extremely thorough interior cleaning (vacuum), some new interior parts, new foglight, new wheel center caps, and new paint on the doors. So for less than $1000, you'd have a very unique show car that's documented as being 1 of only 13. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...1/P1080583.jpg I love the seller's description for this car on ebay. It's very informative and interesting to read. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-...item4157b391e2 This is just kind of a novelty, but here's another little fact. The '93 Indianapolis Pace Car Camaros were some of the only other Camaros with 01U and AAT RPO codes. There may have been a few others, but I haven't done that research yet. |

Only 13k miles, prol 13 sets of tires on it too...Strictly being an EVOC car I'm sure it was put thru the paces.
But you are right- it would be a perfect platform for a race-car or even a show car... |

Some other seller just listed an Oklahoma B4C Camaro. The difference between this one and the one above, even though they look similar, is that GM didn't paint this car white and black. This car was originally delivered solid black, and the police had the white parts painted.
http://images2.carsforsale.com/32778...852911F2_1.jpg The doors are black on the inside unlike the one above. I guess if there's a dead giveaway, that's it. http://images2.carsforsale.com/32778...52911F2_19.jpg |

I searched EVOC Camaro on youtube and there's some old videos of some hardcore driving of this car, or one of the 13 like it. Definitely not babied, but still very worth having.

If there's only one replica, then I've seen it here in Dallas. It was at Cars & Coffee one month and looked fantastic. The police officer there was talking to the owner for quite a long time though... the owner isn't an officer and it was a very convincing fake police car. I don't know the outcome of that, but it's pretty brazen to put POLICE on the side of your car if you aren't an officer...

Very cool, what are you going to do with it? Restore it? Make it into a race car? Leave it as-is?
