Door Sills From Ebay...

I won an auction for some "door sills" from ebay. I won it for 1 cent haha the shipping was $16 so for $17 I got some billet aluminum door sills..... supposedly... Get them in the mail today and realise they are 19inches long (compare that to the stock sills...) and only a few inches across. As well as the letters in the add didn't match the construction of the letters in the aluminum in the pieces I recieved. the letters are different but they still look just as good for the most part and actually a little less 80's looking But they are SO SMALL!!!

I think getting them to blend will take painting or dying my dark gray sills to silver or light gray. then attach these with little screws and the 3m tape that is already on the back. Maybe use rhinoliner on the surrounding sill foot step and leave the plaque aluminum... that is an idea. i think that might actually turn this into a good situation. I realised to get a full replacement sill in aluminum would be a very complexly bent part and probably very very pricey. this will do!

Can't expect too much from some of those Ebay auctions. Sounds like a nice project though, they should look nice once you do a little work to them.

yes I think I can either bevel out a flat spot for them to rest in the middle of the factory sills or even just stick it on top of them but paint them to match the car first.. then the squares that are embossed on the factory sills could be covered in rhino liner paint on material for non slip and to show the plaque off more because the rhino liner won't be on the plaque itself Should match the car, bring out the logo and not look tacky at all. We'll see what happens. I need to get some paint or dye first. what is the best for plastic?
