Door scoops and pu12en12g

I was looking at another thread on here about the custom body kits. I would give anything (well almost) to have the side scoops like the ferrari 360 spider but higher like this.

I seen where pu12en12g said the doors can be modified to have this. Is this true and how much. Not really caring if they are functional but would proably be better for aerodynamcis

If they were non-functional they would hurt the aerodynamics
but you could make those ones on the door functional with some tubeing and a jiggsaw

The biggest deterent in making these functional would be the window glass, it runs along the ouside contour of the door and there isn't alot of room to play with there, the actual full progression of the hole through the body would probably have to take place at the front of the rear fender, there you would be cutting metal.......then it would have to come out at the front of the fender well........I imagine it could be done, but it would have to be well thought out.

If your serious about it take an hour and pull your door panel and the plastic sheeting and see how much room is between the door skin and the window, this will at least give you an idea of what you have to work with, after that it's just a matter of some body work.

This could be done and COULD look good IF PROFESSIONALLY DONE, and IF you also modified the fenders to flow with the new body lines.

As you know, on the 360 Modena the scoop is pretty deep, and you may not be able to get that same functional effect without going to a custom widebody conversion. A widebody conversion would take advantage of the stock camaro's already present concave lines, then you could modify the doors to accentuate this effect.

This would be similar in theory to a Saleen SR widebody kit, only based on a F-Body.

nice concept. Most import drivers have the Z3 fenders, would have these. Actually I like those BUT at the same time I don't. The look is nice, but then again you have rocks, mud, water flying up and hitting your body and scratching the paint. If they are non-functional, the look is all you get out of them (which is nice for me b/c I only do shows). I guess its what you want out of them.

Its one of them...
The Saleen SR is available as a coupe only. The retail price for the Saleen SR starts at $150,000. Like all Saleen vehicles, the 2002 SR is available only at Saleen Certified Ford Dealers nationwide.

I know its off topic but has anyone else read all of the lies about 1/4 mile times and 0-60 times on the Saleen website i find it kinda funny

"
Camaro Z28 SS 1/4 13.9 / 105.0 0-60 5.4
Firebird Trans Am 1/4 14.1 / 101.0 0-60 5.5
"

I know theres a debate about which is faster if any but there the same car and from my experiances i have seen the Trans Ams out run a camaro slightly....................Just another reason to hate stangs.

Hey pu12en12g. That concept you did is awesome. This one
http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...8_770_full.jpg
It would proably be a lot easier to do this one with the holes in the front fender than in the door and rear fender like the ferrari. Dont you think. I just want something to make it have more attitude. I would love the ferrari but would settle for the Z3 if it is a lot easier like I think it is. And we really need to loose that damn bumper. I hope whistler can help us out there.
