The door light on the drivers side burnt out today while I was putting in new front speakers.

I'm wondering if there's any place where I can get the bulbs in different colors?

If you don't know what the heck i'm talking about....

Door light = little light that lights up the power window/mirror panel.

 

I see all different colors at autozone. Some people even paint their bulbs, but I don't know how safe that is. The tinted bulbs seem to give off less light, I hope that's not a problem.

 

How much are the tinted bulbs?

Also, how do I get the bulb out? Just pull?

 

Those lights are actually tinted blue by a blue plastic insert... kinda like fibre lighting. Unless you put in a different color insert (the Pontiacs have red) you can't really change the color. The bulbs themselves are clear and number 74.

 

On my '01 they are clear. The lens is clear and so is the bulb. I don't think they pull out. I broke mine and then drilled the holder and wired a blue LED into the holder and pluged it back in. The TA's bulb is clear, but the little lens is red. That's where it gets it's color from. This makes it harder to change the color on a TA.

 

I believe there's LED replacements for those blubs and they come in different colors. check ebay. or do a search, one of em has to have it.
