Do billet aluminum grilles rust?
As far as "bare" aluminum, it forms a layer of oxidation that tends to stop further corrosion. But in the winter, if you drive anywhere they put salt on the roads, you may find a lot of discolorization.... mainly black.... as the salt corrodes the aluminum. Usually, you can get this off with a good aluminum polish, but not all the time. And it can lead to pitting.
All of this applies to "bare" aluminum. Most of these problems can be eliminated if it has a good clearcoat on it.

Do you know it it came from the manufacturer with clearcoat on it? A lot of aluminum products are sold this way.
If you decide to coat it, I can't think of any reason you would need "high temperature".

The one I was thinking of getting was off of E-bay. I'm going to email the seller and see if it was clearcoated or not. The reason I was going to use high-temp is because I have some left over from my caliper painting.
