Did Interior with LED's...Uh Can I go Brighter?
Did Interior with LED's...Uh Can I go Brighter?
They're red but the A/C and Shifter plate is PRETTY dim you can BARELY tell they're lit even at night... Any bright RED LED's out there that are small like the 74 Bulb size?

I have some Red 20,000 mcd LED's with a 4 degree viewing angle can can be modified to provde you with the light you should need. I was using them in my Cargo Light and Map Ligth LED conversions. If you want bright these can cause eye damage if you look directly into them..
I have red 30,000 mcd 9 degree viewing angle LED's on the way.

The 4* and 9* is great for spot lighting, but for area lighting it sux. I've got some LEDs here at work that will blow those away, but they are SMT (surface mount) and actually require a heatsink to function properly; but when you are talking 150 cd with a 60* beam spread... that's a lot of light.

Care to share who makes them and the part numbers?
The LED's I mentioned would work fine if you modified the housing a little to better light dispersion. Yea you give up some of the mcd, BUT it will illuminate a larger area without a heatsink.

www.lumileds.com for the product, www.futureelectronics.com for the sole distributor.
