black roof cracking

My 1994 z/28 is showing sings of what i think is heat cracking on the black plastic/fiberglass ? roof panel. Does anybody else have this problem?I live in AZ. Is the panel replaceable? I called two local dealers and got 2 different stories. Ons said it is fiberglass and bonded to the metal. the other said its plastic and comes unpainted.Has anybody had to replace this roof section?

Re: black roof cracking

The roofs on all 4th gens are fiber reinforced plastic, (like fiberglass), panels bonded to the steel under structure. And they are all painted.
The glue used to bold the panel to the steel reacts with the plastic/paint and causes bubbling or cracking.
There is a TSB on this and the dealer should replace the top panel under warrenty.

Nice link thanks.

I am not a member of the board that the link connects too. Could somebody email that guy and ask what the TSB # is.

I would be shocked if it would cover my 10 year old 95 z28, but stranger things have happened.

Thanks
