my dashboard has cracked right where the heat vent is. how hard is it to replace is it one piece or does the whole dahsboard have to come out? how much is the part? anyone know or have it doen before?

 

its a plastic cover, pops into place with tabs, its like 100 or so?

 

i saw somewhere (cant remember) had a 12 pound dash kit. it had no innards, but was paintable and had vent holes and everything. the airbags would have to be removed, but a wieght savings of over 45 pounds for a hundred bucks is sweet. ill do a search again and see what i find.

 

If that's a part where gauge cluster is you do need to take some of dash appart. If it's a top pice you'll just have to remove an a-pillat and pop the top pice up.

 

I also need a new dashboard.... mine is cracked to hell from the airbags ripping it up and stuff.. I already got a new dash and airbags,, but I need a new dashboard...

 

it is the top piece that i need. is it something you can get from autozone or is it a gm parts store part?
