cuttin some gills!
Hey thanks. I appreciate that. I've run into some delays @ the paint shop which has kept me from taking any more pictures. I should have it back though sometime next week. I'm sure I'll have pictures up before the sun goes down on the day I get it back!
I'm also thinking about another nifty mod. This one, of course is going to be a little bit more intensive than anything else I've tried. I'm not sure how viable it'll be either...but I'm going to think about it and put some ideas together. here's the general idea...have you ever been up next to a Porshe Carrera (late model) when they get up to speed and the rear spoiler comes up? A boxster does it too. Also, the Mitsubishi VR4 Spyder has something like that. Basically...I kinda like the way the Z-28 spoiler looks...I don't know if I like the way the SS spoiler hangs up at the back and leaves a rather large space above the tail section. GM tried to kinda tie it all together with the 98-up SS spoiler by giving it 2 supports to rest on. What I was thinking was somehow creating a piece out of the Z-28 spoiler that would be speed sensitive to raise up just a tad under speed. Kinda like the VR4 tail does.
I can't really do much until I get the car back from paint and I get a chance to look at the design more closely. Oh...and to anyone that would read this and say.."well gee...that doesn't really sound like it'd be all the useful...I mean...what's a few degrees on a rear spoiler gonna do..." All I can say to those people is...you are probably right! It's just an appearance mod. Something to be different. Different...yet...nothing to stick out like a sore thumb. I'll keep ya posted.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! After almost 3 months of working on this car...it's all complete. I got the gills done in just a couple days, but it was the whole front end conversion that really took up the time. I know some other people say that thing takes a weekend, but I dunno...I've never worked on a car like this before...so it took me FOREVER. And shoot...it took a month to finally get it painted! Anyways...It's all done and I got it back from the painter tonight. MY GOD it looks sweet!
It's got a paint job that'll freakin blow your mind. Anyways...I said I'd update the thread tonight...I took some pics of it just a few minutes ago, but when I loaded them up...they were WAY too dark to do it justice. It's just too darn late at night. I'll take some pics first thing in the morning and post again.
All I can say is...it was worth the wait!

hey custom bird...those aren't bad at all!!! Very Z-3 inspired...I'm liking that a lot.
I've had cable modem problems all morning...but I finally got on for a bit and put some pics up. (in the sig) I was gonna put up more, but we went out and got margaritas and I can barely type now.
I'll take more and put more up l8r. If anyone wants to see more pics of anything in particular, just let me know. The pics I have up now show the shaved bumper emblem, front end conversion, and the gills. Like I said before...the paint job will take your breath away in person...the pics don't do it justice.
Next on the list is lowering. I'm probably going for the BMR kit. I had planned on some ZR1 chrome wheels...and I probably will eventually...but I'm almost kinda liking the old chrome salad shooters on there for the old LT1 heritage...dunno though...we'll see. Hope you guys enjoy the pics. Let me know what cha think? For now...MORE MARGUERITAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't taken any more pics...I will this week. I've been to busy driving the thing! Well...between that and getting married...
I'm going up to the lake wednesday this week, so I'll take some shots up there.
