My bad, I was going off of hear-say from a friend of mine who did in fact put coupe carpeting into his vert with no problem at all. Don't know what you did wrong, but it can work. What year is your car? The one that should (atleast from what I hear and have SEEN) work is an LT1 coupe to LT1 vert.

Re: Convertible Carpet ( 4th gen )

Mine is a 95 vert and the coupe carpet I tried was a 95 coupe . Sure it did fit , it just didnt lay right around where the door sills are ....there is a ledge there on convertibles , and it did not lay right at all going up over the ledge behind the rear seats . So IMO because it wouldnt lay right in those 2 areas it didnt work and it looked like a$$ .

Hmm, maybe it was the fault of the previous owner doing something weird to their carpeting? Like I said, it's been done with no problems before by other people, so I dunno what happened with yours. I'm just stating the facts that I've seen, granted it wasn't experienced first hand but if one person can do it I don't know why yours got screwed up.

Re: Convertible Carpet ( 4th gen )

I dunno, I may go ahead and try using coupe carpet since I haven't heard back from zeeya. Its not that my carpet is in bad shape, I just don't like the color.....and its starting to get colder out so I'm going to need to think of some projects for winter storage....

Off topic: 90z28ss, thats one bad lookin ride. How much did that front end conversion cost you? zeeya quoted me a price of about 1400 for the parts minus the hood(I would get a fiberglass). Some people get their panties in a bunch when I mention that I'm thinking about doing it....like I'm trying to be an ls1 , I just think the ls1 front end looks sweet. Maybe I'll just try to get some nice headlight covers and call it a day

Try calling HPsalvage . 210-649-2554 . Their awesome people to deal with and have always had whatever I needed for a convertible from any year .

Thanks for the compliments bro . I did mine a few years ago and costs were alot higher . I paid $2200 for a entire 2001 WS6 front clip , meaning they cut the body aqt the windsheild . I dunno , I would never have done it if my car wasnt stolen . They took all my body panels , hood ect. , essentially stripped the car from the windsheild forward . I figured it was a good time to update since the insurance picked it up The LS1 front end is definately sweeter , but sometimes I feel like I gotta kit car , if it happened now , I prolly just would stayed LT1 front and got a hood .

Re: Convertible Carpet ( 4th gen )

I may just try using an aftermarket kit for the coupe carpet. I don't think I want to use an oem color anyways. Or I may just buy some non-formed automotive grade carpet and cut it to fit. Either way, I have to figure it out pretty soon because I want to put the carpet in after I weld the cage in, since the interior will be out of it anyways......

I put a 95 coupe carpet in my 95 vert and it looks good had to do some trimmig but nothing to big plus I left it out in the hot sun for a couple hours and made it very manageable and i dynomated to whole pan and it worked fine.
