Clear tail light conversion

The tail lights, conversion was easy to do, just the stock tailights, unbdo the 2 tabs at the back, pull apart, can be difficult, need a bit of muscle, as RV selent quite tough. Then just take out the red refelctor. Took me only an 1 or so to do, real easy and if I want to go back to stock, jst pull apart and put red reflector back. Bulbs, could not find red bulbs, only the small ones for the small outer ones. I just got some red bulb covers from autozone. I will try and get a picture tonight with them on and post it. I have had a lot of comments on them. Got the idea from some of the members on fbody.com, they have done it. I like them, they are different

yup.. and the new ones are already in the works for this winter...

sould be probably 50-100* brighter.. but cost upwards of almost $200... $140 being just LEDs... although I'm only using 24 total, 4 for each bulb.

I put the superbrightleds.com LEDs in my front blinkers. After running them for a few days, I noticed a few of the led's were burned out (there were like 10 or 12 on each "bulb"). After another day or so, all of them were burned out on one side, and half were burned out on the other side. I swapped in another brand new set, and once again, after a few days, the bulbs started burning out. I contacted the guy at superbright leds and he told me to send them back. I sent them back and week or so later I got credit back for one of them. Upon asking him why I only got credit for one, he replied that their failure rate is like 1% or less, so it must be my car, and not his LEDs. So he only refunded me for the 1 LED that was working, and not the other 3 that were burned out.

The electrical system on my car is stock, there is no reason that I can think of that my car would cause these LEDs to start burning out. I ordered the correct automotive LEDs with the resistors built in, and I changed out my blinker thingy to a electronic one. I will never buy anything from them again.

I just checked their site, and I see the load resistor that you are talking about. I am positive that it was not listed on their site when I purchased my bulbs. It was a while back when I bought them.

This will solve LED related turn signal problems such as hyper flashing, no flashing or burnt out bulb...
You would think when I e-mailed the guy about the problem, he would have mentioned I needed that particular part, and possibly explained that was my problem...

Ohh well, I would like to buy the 30bulb LED's for my tail lights, and get the other LEDs for my blinkers again, but I just can't bring myself to spend money there again.

got a picture of the brake lights on in the daylight. They seem to look bright enough to me, they look pretty red, I have bulb covers instead of red bulbs. Should I still get the LEDs though? Do they look a lot brighter?
