Clear Corner Install

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone had tips on how to remove the stock orange corner lights. I removed the headlight and the screws holding in the turn signal assembly, but I couldn't find a way to squeeze the assembly out. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Clear Corner Install

Um is this on a LS1 car or a LT1.. Either way it Doesnt really matter but to get the turn signal(s) out just take off the air damp from under the front of the car along with the 2 splash guards on either side of that (the ends of the air damp are attacked to theses just fyi) then pull them down. Now you should have perfect room to get the turn signal out.

Just unscrew the 3 screws and pull the signal out and disconnect the bulbs.
Then just put the new ones in and just reverse the steps that you did to put everything back together.

Also when your putting the splash guards on there is a clip that part of the wall on them slides up into just so you know. You should see it.

Re: Clear Corner Install

I'm still a little unclear....access to the light it not a problem because i took the headlights off already...it you take the airdam off does that mean that the hard plastic piece that the back of the corner light assembly screws itno will also come off??...because that it the only thing that is hindering the removal of the actual assembly. And once the air dam is off, does it snap back on with no damage to the plastic pieces?

I never took my air dam completely off. You can access the turn signal lamps without complete removal. If you have jackstands, it will make every so much faster and easier. I wish I would have thought about using them when I did mine. I simply unbolted each side of the splash guards. It flexes enough without bending so that you can fit your arm up inside. The only pain is the screws that held the lamps in place. Just be patient and stay calm. The bolts will go right back into place for the splash guards.

Taking the scew out and screwing it back in will not hurt anything at all . It made to do that.

As far as the hard plastic peice your talking about i'm not sure what your really talking about but im going to guess that its the Splash guards , which the ends on the air dam is connected to. If you take those off you should be able to get the the signals with no problem. If you have any question about where the screws go back in at just looks here Front end

Thats the site i used when i was putting my car back together and taking it off.

That splash shield only gives you access to the parking lamp, it will not give you room to move the park lamp out. In order to give room to let the lamp out you need to remove the fender to bumper bracket. Its a black "L" shape piece of metal with 3 bolts on one side and 1 on the other. After taking this off it's easy to slide the lamp out.

It might be just me, but it won't allow me to view your picture.

For me, LT1 front, there are about six or more bolts to remove the splash guard and then the black "L". After that, its easy.

I can't see the link, but look at that vertical line next to the headlight that connects to the fender. Then look at the horizontal line that connects the fender to the bumper. See that L-like shape, kinda like this __| if you are looking at the passenger side. Anyways that bracket is right behind there. 3 to unscrew on the horizontal, and one to unscrew for the vertical. The horizontal side, you have to go at it from the bottom, so you have to remove the lower shield. The vertical you can get to from top or bottom, depending on your access area.

Re: Clear Corner Install

Thanks a lot for all the help guys...unfortunately I have to go back to school, so i won't be able to work on my car for a few months since it is sitting in a garage in storage also. Hopefully She will have clear corners on when I take her out this spring.
