Camaros without body side molding?

Mine is starting to pitt on the passenger side, I dont know why, but was playing with just removing it entirely, is that a bad idea? would it come off in one piece or should I just leave it alone?

Any pictures of cars without the molding?

Re: Camaros without body side molding?

I don't have any pics and I barely remember it but my car didn't have it from the factory we added it.

Reason why, getting door dings and chips were rediculous with out it.

I'm wondering if some kind of plastic polish and some time will fix it.

I normally wax the plastic when I do the car, it's just progressively getting worse as time goes on.

I say go ahead and remove it. Looks much cleaner without it.

Re: Camaros without body side molding?

I didnt know that many people removed theirs till now!

How did you guys get it off in one piece? I was thinking blow drier and dental floss?

I might try some kind of plastic cleaner first then if I still feel this way I might just remove it.

THanks

Re: Camaros without body side molding?

I got enough dings on my car, removing the door moldings would be suicide for my car.

Re: Camaros without body side molding?

How hard would it be to fill in the seam on the side? Has anyone tried that?
