front end conversion

i just found this site online and im doing a front end conversion for my 1995 z28 to the 1998front end and have every part already...my only question is what is used to mount the bumper cover in the front besides the brackets shown in the photos for the fenders to connect to the bumper if the old head light panel is removed which had the holes for the push pins and is the front bumper support really a must have item to complete conversion? or can i just put the bumper cover on without

Doing this conversion and just noticed it on here. I got my brackets from two diffrent cars at the junkyard for like 15 for all, one was hit one side one the other lol. Found a new LH fender for $10 dollars at carlisle (the guy didnt know what it fit) the other came from a JY for $35 off a car that literally had no driver side seat or door (smashed in). got foam, support and bumper cover bracket on another car for 45. Paid $10 from a friend for the hood, He built a 632 BBC drag radial car out of a v6 car. Never could find a good bumper cover or headlights though. I recently purchased a nice used cover from another site for $60 shipped and got a headlight from this site that was like new. I mocked it all up tonight on the car (94 Z28) everything fit fine with normal adjustment except that the hood was too high in the rear. I looked at a parts book and online and found out the hood hinges are different from 93-97 and 98-02. The hood is "fatter" (the bracing underneath) than the old one. It also seems to be heavier as well (I was trying to get this thing lighter lol), oh well I will get a fiberglass one later on. Wanted to let everyone know about the hood hinges, since I did not see it listed.BTW- it took AWHILE to find this stuff lol since I did not want to pay alot , too many other projects.

Actually beginning this project for my 96 Z28 and have already been browsing Craigslist for some of the pieces, I figure if I take my time and look for bargains I can have a lovely project to keep me busy during the winter. Has anyone else recently done this project and if so what were your results? ^_^

The conversion can be done using the LT1 fender brackets. I'm not sure how, but when I took my LS1 front end off my LT1 car, it still had the LT1 brackets. I wish I would have paid more attention taking it off.

front end swap

Thanks for the insight, Im in the process of doing the swap now, did you have any issues with the wiring as far as the headlights? I also noticed someone posted a note about the hood hinges, did you have to swap that out as well? Your Z is rockin!
