Re: Finally a 93-97 to 98-2002 front-end conversion tutoral

You got all the parts needed for the swap for 180 bucks from US auto parts,
including the shipping? Sorry, that just doesnt seem possible. Honeycomb,
brackets, fenders, hood, headlights, crashbar, and nose for 180 shipped to my
door? I guess I should check out their Ebay store. Please send pictures if you
have any, or post them here for others to see : sbca96@aol.com

Thanks! Thats truely amazing prices!!

Well, the guy came through with the parts, I got everything (plus a bunch of
extra parts he didnt want- V6 wiring harness, wiper motor, anti-lock assy) for
$900 bucks delivered from up north. Unfortunately he misplaced & didnt bring
the main brackets that bolt under the front edge of the fender. He is going to
ship them to me. Hope they went out on Monday like planned.

Anyway, I tore apart the Camaro last night, and I have a couple of things I
thought worth clarifying. First, its mentioned in the tutorial that there are (4)
four screws (white?) that you remove from underneath that can hold the nose
onto the car. This is very true, but the description is misleading. They are
not white, they are regular screws. They screw into the bottom of the head-
light bucket that runs the length of the frontend. Two on each side. Their
not 10mm, and you dont "knock them out". I found (2) two white plastic spin
screws in the center, but they do not hold the nose on. The size of those 4
small screws I didnt bother to check, I just found a little wrench that fit. If it
helps they are the same size as the screws that hold the front turn signal to
the rubber nose (8mm?). Second thing worth mentioning, the impact absorber
for the 93-97 is a hard plastic honey comb, the 98-02 is styrofoam. I haven't
weighed them, but I would guess it could shave a few pounds off the front.

Here is the location of two of the four bolts :

I don't know if I missed it or not...but will the fenders from the 93-97 fit the nose of the 98-02?

Or will there need to be new fenders purchased, as well?
