Blackouts for the LS1

What do all of you think about them on the LS1?

I like them but they are really hard to get on and off of the rear.

What looks better, with or without?

Taillight blackouts?

I think they look pretty damn sweet, although they mess up the tailight itself in prolong heat. As a result, I have dented taillights.

ditto, i have the same dented taillights from the previous owner.

I'm talking about the front and rear blackouts.

I have them on the front and I love the way they look. I was planning on getting them on the rear but what does that mean to get dented taillights? How can this be avoided???

I was thinking about getting them too, but a friend in Jax, FL got pulled over and had to take them off of his taillights, so I guess they're illegal in FL.

I only have them on the back, the ones on the front look akward unless they are on a black car. They just have such an odd shape that when you make it one solid looking piece it just makes them stand out, in a bad way IMHO.

Heres a shot of mine on the rear, sorry it isn't the best pic I have but you get the idea.

Also forgot to mention my friend who has the fronts on, just stopped using them because at night it is basically just driving with the fog lights and nothing else since it blocks most of the projection.

It can't be avoided as far as I know. It looks like in the middle of the taillight (red one), like someon heated the plastic, and gently pushed a spoon into the plastic. Its a soft inverted dome looking mark. If that makes any sense.

PS: "There is no spoon"

So that's why mine are dented... Appearently they had turn signal blackouts on it as well because I found velcro sticky things on my left one.

I have rear tail light covers on my car....I love them!
I diffently think blackouts look the best on White and Red cars!
With Black colored cars it's just too much black. Any other color just doesn't look as good as white or red.

Haven't seen enough cars with headlight covers to give an opinion.

My friend used to have blackout tailights on his black car and I thought they look pretty cool.
