Blacking out LT1 tail lights to hide separation
Im thinking of blacking out my LT1 tails to hide the separation. Its getting pretty bad on one. It looks milky on the top half now. For the guys that black them out, does it do a good job of hiding the separation? Or should I just look for good condition set?

Those fall off or would be stolen. I had a pair once. I want something permanent. One thread mentioned shops doing a candy black clear for around $60-80 for the front turns, brake light, and tails. I'll probably do something like that if it can hide the delamination

Or you could just do them yourself with a can of VHT nightshade and them hit 'em with some clearcoat once you're satisfied with the darkness. This would probably cost you about a quarter of the price a shop would charge you. I did the tails (minus the reverse lights), 3rd brakelight, rear side markers, and front turn signal corners on my Z28 last summer. Came out great, hope this helps
Good luck
