Best Car Paint

I am gonna pay a buddy of mine to paint my soon to be 2000 WS6. It's Burgundy right now... and that's kind of a turn off for me. So I want to get it because he wants 11,900 for it. 58k on the clock! Bone stock with exhaust, lowering springs, and he is giving me Z06 rims.

So this car seems like a great buy because I am also getting a 7 month warranty on the car.

So!! I need some solid recommendations on awesome Silver paint!

Re: Best Car Paint

Use PPG paints....best in quality IMO. Pick a color and have it mixed at a local PPG retailer and you'll be good to go.

Listen to this man he knows what hes talking about.

But if you cant find any ppg retailer. look up a dupont autocolor store. There hot hues brand is there top of the line paint. If you cant find one of them order offline from house of kolor. thats what i did,

Re: Best Car Paint

Whatever brand you choose I would definately use the single stage urethane paint. If that isn't an option then go with the single stage enamel. Many people, including the paint shop, will tell you to use 2 stage paints (clearcoat/basecoat) if you want that showcar look. This is absolutely false. If your painter knows how to prep a car and spray the paint like it should be, then you will be very happy with the result and you will have spent WAY less for the paint. Especially if the car is going to be sanded and buffed.

Ask the painter what he recomends, and what he prefers to spray. Not all paints 'flow' the same when painting, and in my experience it is best to stick with what 'your painter' is most comfortable shooting. You trust him to paint it? Trust his advice...

Ditto. Although I do agree that PPG paints are the way to go but that's what I've used most.

And don't even think about putting single stage on that car.
