Question Anyone hear of MECHAM hoods??

I went on their site and the hood for the Camaro really caught my eye. It'c called the 4port extractor/ram air hood. I've never seen or heard of these hoods before this. Anyone seen, heard, or have expierience with them?? http://www.mechamperformance.com/d_docs/h_CA4g4f.html

Yeah, they are nice looking hoods. Never actually seen one on a Camaro, but Bloodztone (who hangs out in the Texas forum) has the Mecham hood on his TA and it looks sweet.

CRKHEDMAT has one. Go to www.crkhedmat.com and you will find some pics of what it looks like! Other than it having extremely bad fitment, and requiring much labor, I think he is happy with it!!

I think Matt took it off because it was crap.

I wasn't sure he still had it on.

Thy look good, but I think their quality control sucks ***.

I agree with the other opinions posted here. Cool look - bad quality. See sig for pics of my old car with the Mecham hood...

good luck,
Shane

I have the single extractor hood on my Z --- fitment was great, it lined up quickly 1st try. The quality is average - certainly not great but better than some of the aftermarket hoods I have seen. It is a unique look that I really like and no one else in my area has. The extra pain and hassle of getting it all perfect is pretty much the same with all aftermarket hoods I have had.

Definitely worth the extra hassle in my opinion!

My cousin has this hood on his black Firebird. It looks sooooooooo damn sweet!! No pics yet He did not have any fitment trouble with it, HOWEVER he bought it on eBay from a dude who had a black T/A, so if the T/A owner did the work, my cousin wouldn't have known.
