anyone ever dye their car's carpet?

Instead of replacing my ugly carpet with a different one I wanted to dye it to make it look new again. Has anyone ever died their own carpet and had good results?

Spray on dye will make your carpet fibers stiff and it'll feel like you've got steel wool for carpet. And not the 0000 stuff, either. Liquid dye would be a big pain in the *** because you'd have to find a container big enough to handle that carpet, not to mention the padding on the back of it would soak up a ton of the dye.

I think it's best to just save up your money and replace the carpet. Carpet honestly isn't very expensive to replace. Well... the labor to put it in could be, but the actual carpet is fairly cheap considering the price of car parts!

For more info on how I did it here was my thread I made about it:

Do it man...if it looks lousy, replace the carpet. This will cost you like 20 bucks and some time to try.
