I have heard the same thing, the eclipse cover.

I pulled this off LS1.com,

Great work, Silhouette!!
At 4:00am, I also did some PhotoShop work...!

I am really leaning towards painting the actual door!
I think it looks quite interesting...!

To answer your questions:
a - It's Mitsubishi Part AEC00YDX01
b - The install:

1-Remove plastic from current setup

2-Remove Door by drilling through 4 rivets

3-Englarge the gap on the left to make room for the Mits mechanism (used a Dremel)

4- Removed the plastic and screws from the new assembly.

5- Placed it on the car. Drilled a few holes so the Mitsubishi silver screws actually can actually hold it in place

6-Screwed it in.

Very simple!

Oh God, please do not add rice to your car. That first pic is just gross. The fuel door, lights...no, the pain, ahhhhh!

never saw a piont in making your fuel door stick out form the car.. unless you have problems finding it... I would rather it look like i don't have one. I like it when they usta be behind the license plate in the back. But if you like it go for it

Hey, I have one for sale I was going to put on my Electron Blue Z but sold it. It is the Billet Aluminum one (made for an Eclipse that you can modify) that you are looking for.

It was NEVER installed. I paid $100 shipped.

It's yours for $75 shipped (in the contiental U.S.). E-mail me if interested.

If anything I would shave it and put in a fuel cell. But I for sure wouldn't make it stand out. Way to ricey for me
