Does anyone know how to remove the stock shift **** on a 94 auto Z28? I found replacements for them on an F-Body site, that have "Z28" engraved in it, and i was thinking about buying one, but i can't figure out how to remove the stock one. Thanks in advance!

 

There is a c clip in the front of the **** that you cannot see. With the car on, and your foot on the brake, drop it all the way in 1st or 2nd. Needle nose pliers is all you need to get that clip off. Pull the **** off, re-install new **** the same way. Simple install. - Hope that helps you - Mike

 

yup it's simple to replace, just pop out the c-clip. You may have to give the clip a small tap with a hammer if it won't go back in after putting on the new shiftknob.....but only a small tappity tap tap....just a small tap-eroo.
