'82 to Iroc

I found these other posts, but my question is still not answered

I want to attach the exterior Iroc trim to this '82. But as you can see, where the panel (grey) mounts to the rocker (black) I have no way to "screw" it to the car from the top. The fender, quarter and underside of the ground effect are no problem. What's missing?

i am having a hard time seeing off your pictures, but under the side skirts, running below the door, on stock gfx cars there is length of steel welded to the car that the screws go into from the top. I'd imagine that non gfx cars have nothing. if that is the case for you, just weld in a piece of steel, ans use self tapping screws to hold the side skirt in place.
