4th Gen Big Block hood???

OK, I have seen the "Big Block" style hood. From what I can tell it looks like a bigger version of the SS style. THe only thing I don't like is that BUMP infront air intake scoop. Does any one make one with out that? How about on that is you can make the ram air work? Thanks John

The "bump" is there because that's how the BB hoods have always looked. You don't like it, get an SS hood.

As far as making the ram-air functional, you'll have to cut out the hood then fab something up to your airbox. But as of now, there is nothing aftermarket that will work.

Yeah, you could cut the front section out pretty easily. I have seen it done once. Even without doing anything else, I am sure it would get rid of a lot of heat since the back end is open too.

Thanks for the replys guys. I am going to try to use the RKSports Induction kit and make a BB Hoods work. I'm sure that its nothing that alittle fiberglass wouldn't fix.

yea i cut the stinger out of the hood and fiberglassed over it. Plus i cut the opening out to make it actually somewhat functional. Not to bad to do, i actually just sold the hood to a friend. got pictures if you wanna see what it looks like without. 100X better in my opinion.

did you get my pict? if you want more to get a different perspective i'll send more. the rksport hood is prolly the closest. The only thing i like more is that the big block hood sat higher, think is was like 2_3/4" higher at windshield. plus it was open in the rear so with the front being cut out it made a tremendous change in underhood temps, cooled my slp coldair intake down alot
