35th ann. stripes on 96 SS

I love the look of the 35th anniversary racing stripes so much i want to put them on my 1996 SS hood.

Only problem.. the 98-up SS hoods aren't the same shape, and the stripes seem to follow the curvature of that stripe. Anyone know somewhere where i can get the 35th ann stripes that are actually made for a 96/97 SS hood? I'm thinking 3rdgendecals, but i didn't really get a good look of the 35 ann on the earlier hoods.

Anyone have experience or pics other than brent frankers?

Thanks

Damn... and I was going to reply as I had the 35th stripes (for a 98+ SS hood) on my 96SS. Looked very good IMO. I presume you saw all the pics? If so, that's how they'll look They came from 3rdgendecals too. In fact, he has my car on his site as the example for these on a 96/97SS style hood.

*goes back to 3rdgen to look*

Well, i feel pretty dumb, apparently i didn't scroll down far enough :P They do look very nice brent, and i got the idea from your site a while ago, actually. Just never saw the close up pics from 3rd gen. It does look very nice and you installed them very professionally

You answered my question, as the very back part of the scoop has the stripes coming up the side, that's what i was asking They do look good, i like our scoops better than the 98 and ups anyway

Now for your opinion on colour. I have a red car... i was thinking either silver or black stripes... yea or nay?

Thanks very much

On red, either silver or black would look very good. I think it depends on what your current or future color scheme will be. For example, what color rear inserts would you get... silver/black? Also, any other colors or accents you might want to do on your car would you do them in silver or black? I'd make the stripes the same.

Both those colors look very good on a red car... I'd have a rough time deciding on this one

So I didn't know of an F-Body pic right off...

The Viper style stripes on F-Body's and Vette's is definitely growing on me - that one you posted is a perfect example of why too.

Thanks for the input guys, the rest of the car is accented with black, so that will most likely be my choice, unless i really want to stand out.

I'm pretty sure i want to do the SLP quad center exhaust with the rear skirt, and paint the rear valance where it says "camaro" black, like the tom henry cars. I think it'll look pretty slick when it's done

Thanks again,
Tim

What!?!? You don't have all the pics in the guide memorized!?!? Geesh

Actually, I must confess... I was trying to figure something out on my car and was telling a bud that I wish I had info on it. He looked at me and started laughing a little and said it was on my site. I was like "no way!" but went in and checked... sure enough, I had what I needed on my own site. Whoops
