I have a 1981 Camaro and i wanted to get opinions on if I should get racing stripes. Its a z28 so it does have the z28 decals but when i get it repainted black, im gonna leave them off. Do you guys think two racing stripes right down the middle would look good on a late 2nd gen. Ive never seen it so if anyone got pics please show me.

 

Hi my name is Matt and I too own a second-generation camaro. I think racing stripes would look good as long as they were wide enough and began and ended on the car. I never liked the stripes that went all the way to the ground. Just a helpful hint the little pinstripe that goes around the big stripe on all factory GM stripes does wonders. On a side note I noticed that you were pretty new to this board and I don't know if you have noticed or not but this board is mainly 4th gens (the reason that I am here is I also have a 95 Z). Pics in the sig of yellow with purple stripes and i love them, sometimes a car is a car and the stripes give the appearance edge. Album 3 is the newest pics but they all have the stripes. What you guys think of it?

 

i think the ss stripes look like crap on 2nd gens id leave the z28 stripes on it
